Helen Marnie (born in 1978 in Glasgow, Scotland) is a member of the British electronic music band Ladytron. She is the band's lead singer, Mira Aroyo being the secondary singer. Marnie sings most of the Ladytron' songs. She is also keyboardist, songwriter and producer. Helen Marnie was influenced by artists like Kate Bush, Maria Callas and Joni Mitchell. Marnie is a classically trained pianist. She studied music at the University of Liverpool where she received in 1999 a BA in pop music. Helen met the other members of Ladytron while studying in Liverpool. She has also worked briefly as a model.
