Ernest James Wingard (1900 - 1977) was a major league pitcher for the St. Louis Browns. He started 77 games and relieved in 68 from 1924-27. In his rookie season, his 3.51 ERA was 10th best in the American League. He also played in the minor leagues through 1941. Major League Baseball (MLB) is the highest level of professional baseball in the United States and Canada, consisting of teams that play in the National League and the American League. The two leagues merged in 2000 into a single MLB organization led by the Commissioner of Baseball after 100 years as separate legal entities.
